Is content still king. In the world of SEO, content has been regarded as all important. Whilst this is still the case it is not for the reasons you might expect. It is true that content gives something for the spiders to read, it is also true that without relevant content it would be difficult to score in the search engines. However content on it's own is only part of the storey. By building content you are making value. The more a site has the more is informs the greater its influence. And that is the bottom line, an influential or authoritative site attracts attention, attracts popularity attracts users and of course search engines. It is thereby important that the content being delivered is unique, and informative. Some sceptics would call this link bating, because if your content is unique and informative so that people are enthused enough by it and subsequently link to it, blog about it or email each other about it then this is attracting attention for attention sake. Many feel that link bating is wrong, but how can anyone differentiate between link bating and just generating good quality, interesting and authoritative content because you have something to say. So is content still king? Yes, but only when it has value and provides a user experience. M.P
