Google Analytics
unveils new featuresNew features have been added to Google Analytics traffic
analysis web software following its emergence from beta testing. The previous
incarnation was plagued with problems. It was originally launched in 2005 after
Google acquired Urchin. New features include the ability to view reports
on website traffic by the hour, cross-segment by network location and there is
the facility to click through to links mentioned in referral, content, landing
and exist page reports. There is also an increase in the number of data
rows from 100 to 500 and a correction in the colours used to flag up bounce rates
and better AdWords integration. Alden DeSoto from Google said that since
releasing the new Google Analytics, the team has received repeated requests for
specific features. He said they felt strongly that these features deserved
to be incorporated in to the product immediately so, as of today, everyone has
access to the most requested improvements. DeSoto added that Google Analytics
also now identifies referrals from the AOL.fr, Club-Internet.fr, Voila.fr and
Mama.com search engines. The team at Google said they learned from the design
experience of its MeasureMap acquisition to make reports much easier to interrogate. The
old version of Google Analytics will be switched off on 18th July.
