Yahoo!
now showing Inktomi. Yahoo!
has made the jump showing Inktomi
results in its search results. The move comes following much speculation following
Yahoos purchase of Inktomi last year. #
The
events of the past few days have thrown many webmasters into a spin. With significant
falls in their user statistics caused by Yahoo!s
departure from Google results.
Yahoo!
was reported to contribute 24% of Googles total 74% of Global Search Traffic (GST).
The migration of this 24% to Inktomi, which already includes the MSN
network 18% GST. This means that Inktomi now supply approx. 42% of GST.
The
Yahoo!
results are not exactly the same as MSN, there appears to be some bias placed
towards the Yahoo directory.
Inktomis
spider, Slurp, can follow dynamic links but Yahoo is advising webmasters to post
static pages with HREF links directed to specific sections featuring dynamic content.
Inktomi
is very traditional when it comes to Keyword density, keyword arrangement and
simple site structures. Optimising for Inktomi
is a lot like optimising for AltaVista
from a few years ago.
