All
quiet!
Whatever Google was up to last
week, it's stopped now! The BackLink oscillation has been resolved, they have
adopted the 3rd of March results. Still no sign of a PageRank update as yet. What's
up with Google?
There has been much comment in
recent forums about Google having updated its BackLinks. In fact Google has been
oscillating between a January and early February updates since the 7th of March.

confusion
Over the last few days there has
been some strange activity with Google's backlink status. On the 7th of March
there was a change, but it was restored soon after, only to be changed again and
then restored again. This has happened as best we can tell 10 times. Don't know
what it means as yet but it could be a prelude to something significant? XSEO

Whilst Google's Matt Cutts may
have been cloaked in his grey t-shirt, it would appear that Google themselves
may have been caught not practicing what they preach. Adam_C from Threadwatch

What a scoop! Matt Cutts from Google
is a self confessed cloaker. In one of the last sessions of the SES NY Conference,
Matt was caught trying to sneak in to the Link Clinic Secrets session wearing

Having the likes of Google, Yahoo

has a name
Last weekends Google update has
been given a name; Allegra. There are many theories circulating about the update.
Whilst there has been no changes to PageRank, whatever happened has caused a massive
number of sites to evaporate from the SERP's completely. One thing is very clear,
Google's sandbox filters would appear to have been removed, and the influence
of relevant links "semantics"
has increased. Google

Over the weekend Google performed

We see theories all the time about

reciprocal links dead?
For some time now the process of
acquiring links has been under scrutiny by the major search engines. This is because

course what the search engines are looking for is incoming links that are not
reciprocated. MSN
